There is superb walking straight from the door either on the valley floor or into the surrounding fellsKeswick is a 10 minute drive away offering a wide selection of pubs, restaurant and shopsThe local inn is well worth a visit, located on the other side of the valley and reached by a walk of just over a mile along the valley roadsThere are two great pubs in Braithwaite and in ButtermereB; raithwaite also has a well stocked village shop.
